I'm biased, but wow, Whidbey Island and Washington State is a beautiful place to live! Which is why I am so lucky to call it home with my husband. The love of my life, Cris and I met in 2019 and have been doing the adventure, side-by-side, ever since. In that time we've added a couple energetic rescues, first Louie and later Bingo. Life is exponentially more fun with them! Together we love road trips, staying close with friends, camping, working toward our goal to visit all US national parks and of course, photographing it all!

Photography has been a family thing. Growing up, my mom's camera was always at-the-ready and photo albums stacked any available flat space. She would shoot, print, write on the back and organize those photos with care and intention. At the time, I didn't fully appreciate how special it is to have such a well-documented childhood - I now understand her labor of love. Every family trip, holiday, reunion and milestone, artfully protected and memorialized in time. She learned the art of photography from my grandpa and both passed their knowledge and love of the art down to me. Since he passed I have pored over his 35mm negatives, his prints and his E-6 slide film - each time I do I am more and more in awe of the chemical magic that is film photography. I am drawn to both digital and film, but their is something so quintessential about film and the true intention of photography.

And now, I too reach for the camera as an expression of love. A respect for the beauty in each and every moment that makes "now" both fleeting and special. I reach for the camera to remember, and now I want to spread that same love.
